Actually, for this week’s challenge all you have to do is look at my headline photo above. See the hidden baby Bison?
This is a wider view. Can you see the baby Bison hidden in this photo?
What is comfort? I’ve been asking myself that all week. This has been a tough one for me. I just couldn’t decide how to go with this challenge. Food is the easy choice, but I decided to skip it. (BTW for me fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, and my grandmother’s baked apple pies are my comfort foods.)
For my daughter, comfort comes in shade of gray–a gray sweater, gray shoes, a gray scarf.
For my husband, comfort is his recliner.
So what is comfort for me?
I finally decided that comfort for me is my Bison shirt that is at least 10 years old and my recliner. The shirt came from DH, and it makes the perfect house coat when it is cold weather. Oh, and my recliner is comfortable, too.
Comfort also comes from having a boring life filled with loving family members, but I don’t know how to make a photo of that.
Mellow Mushroom is hands-down my favorite pizza place. Not only is the pizza the yummiest around, the decor in each restaurant is unique.
This retro station wagon with the national park stamps plastered on it is almost a traffic-stopper. The canoe strapped on top ups the cool factor even more.
I thought it was funny that Mellow Mushroom would choose a national park theme for their Huntsville, Alabama, restaurant because I didn’t think we had any national parks, but we do have one and a few other places run by The National Park Service.
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, according to NPS, “is one of the four dedicated ‘War of 1812’ parks in the NPS system.”
Also run by NPS:
Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site
With these NPS places in Alabama, I guess Mellow Mushroom got it right by picking a national park theme for the Huntsville restaurant.
Using the car for advertising and serving delicious pizza in an NPS-themed restaurant is a most wonderful combination.
Did I mention they use several Bison in their decor?
Today I went to eat at a new Mellow Mushroom, and it was decorated in what I guess is a national park theme.
Imagine my surprise and delight when I started spotting bison around the restaurant!
There was a picture of a bison in the Airstream seating area.
There was a bison over the bar.
They even had a bison on some of their T-shirts. I was really happy about that and tried to purchase one, but noooooo. The largest size they had was a medium, so I was out of luck.
On the way out I took a final bison memory with me:
