Watching the Iron Bowl for Bama fans today was pure bliss. It started with the awesome flea flicker toss from Trent Richardson to A.J. McCarron. I’m sitting there minding my own business and watching the game, I thought, when I hear DH scream, “FLEA FLICKER!” What? Now I know for sure what that play is!
We went to my sister & brother-in-law’s house to watch the game with them and our sweet niece, and four of the eight grandgirls. Why? Because football games are so much more fun if we have people to yell and scream with instead of being our usual deadhead selves at home alone.
We screamed, yelled, clapped, shouted, and groaned together through the Iron Bowl. The dogs barked “Roll Tide” in agreement. 😀
DH made 7-layer dip & chips for football food, and my sister & BIL offered up chicken fingers, fries, and shrimp.
Back to the game, watching Marquis Maze smile after Auburn’s 18 yard punt was priceless. Trent Richardson powered through and dragged five to ten weaker AU players down the field with him on multiple plays. A few touchdowns and a field goal later, Alabama emerged victorious in this 76th Iron Bowl, 42-14.
Ahhh. Redemption for last year, complete with bragging rights for the next 365 days.
I’m so glad the mantra was fulfilled:
